James Howard Jackson, the man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stole two of her dogs, was recaptured in the city of Palmdale after being mistakenly released from jail April 6.

The manhunt for Jackson ended when police apprehended him on Apricot Drive, where investigators had executed a search warrant, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“On April 6, 2022, Suspect Jackson was erroneously released from custody due to a clerical error,” the police statement read. The United States Marshals Service offered a maximum of $5,000 in 2021 as reward for information that would lead to Jackson’s initial arrest, TooFab reported.

Jackson reportedly shot Ryan Fischer, Lady Gaga’s dog walker, in the chest during the attack in February 2021. Fisher was out with the star’s three French Bulldogs at the time, according to TooFab.

Fischer’s critical injuries reportedly included a collapsed lung, and he was in the hospital for one month after February’s attack. Authorities later claimed Jackson and four other suspects executed the attack, all of whom were subsequently charged for their involvement, the outlet noted. (RELATED: Lady Gaga Accused Of Destroying Heidi Montag’s Career)

The suspects involved stole two of Lady Gaga’s dogs. Lady Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the return of Gustav and Koji, with “no questions asked,” according to The Associated Press. The dogs were returned two days following the attack, according to TooFab.

One of the other suspects, Jaylin Keyshawn White, was sentenced to four years behind bars Wednesday after pleading ‘no contest’ to one count of second-degree robbery and alleging one suspect had been armed, TooFab noted.
