Actress Anne Heche is now in stable condition after suffering severe burns in a car accident Saturday.
The actress allegedly slammed her car into an L.A. house that sustained so much damage it is now “uninhabitable,” according to The Guardian. Heche was originally listed in critical condition, and her Mini Cooper was barely recognizable after the fiery crash, according to TMZ.
Police sources requested a warrant for Heche’s blood sample, with reason to believe the actress was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision, according to TMZ.

The Los Angeles Police Department described the horrific scene of the crash at the time of their arrival. “Solo passenger vehicle struck and came to rest well within a 738 square foot two-story home (built 1952), causing structural compromise and erupting in heavy fire prior,” the police department said in a statement.
The impact of the collision resulted in significant damages and it took a major amount of manpower to stabilize the scene. “59 Firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure, and rescue one female adult found within the vehicle, who has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition,” the statement continued. Sources indicate the LAPD will look into whether or not Heche had consumed alcohol prior to crashing her vehicle, but noted that the results of the toxicology tests could take several weeks, according to TMZ. The police will be assessing possible hit-and-run charges and hope to determine whether or not Heche’s vehicle struck other objects before ramming into the house, the outlet noted.
Heche remains intubated in the hospital while police direct their continued investigation into the cause of the collision, TMZ reported.
