The trailer for the latest Zac Efron-led flick “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” dropped Thursday and it looks like it might be the best movie of the year so far.

The film’s premise is based on the true story of John “Chickie” Donohue, played by Efron, who decides to travel to the frontlines of the Vietnam war to visit his neighborhood friends during their service with the purpose of bringing them a can of their favorite American beer, according to Apple. Just as all great war stories go, the mission becomes the “adventure of a lifetime” as Donohue makes the journey, the description elaborates.

Like all Millennials, I’ve often found it hard to separate Efron from his iconic breakout role in the hit kids movie “High School Musical,” but I really hope this epic looking war movie will change that forever. Though the trailer positions “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” as something of a comedy, the promotional materials suggest this is something far, far deeper.

“‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’ is a heartfelt coming-of-age tale about friendship, loyalty and sacrifice,” according to Apple TV+. (RELATED: This Incredible — And True — Korean War Story Is Getting Hollywood Treatment That Would Make Tom Cruise Jealous)

Judging by the content in the short trailer, this certainly isn’t a woke story, as Efron’s character publicly berates Vietnam war protesters. My fingers are crossed that it turns out to be one of the few recent Hollywood flicks that does nothing but honor and celebrate this great nation, even in the face of tragedy and confusion.

Efron is joined on screen by acting legends Russell Crowe and Bill Murray, according to the IMDB page and trailer. You can watch the full trailer here and judge for yourself. I’ll certainly be watching on Sept. 30.
