HBO Max Finally Dropped ‘The Last Of Us’ Teaser, And It Proves We No Longer Need Other Streaming Services

HBO Max really isn’t messing around when it comes to original programming, but “The Last of Us” looks like it’ll be the streaming service’s biggest show in years.

The streaming service casually released a short teaser for the upcoming show among a bunch of other epic titles slated to hit the platform in the coming months.

Starring the delicious Pedro Pascal, who most of us know and love from Netflix’s hit series “Narcos,” and Nick Offerman from “Parks and Rec,” it would appear that the creators stuck as close to “The Last of Us” video game as possible — or as much as one can tell from these brief clips.

The show is set 20 years after modern society was destroyed by a pandemic, and it follows the story of Joel (Pascal), who is paid to smuggle a 14-year-old girl out of a quarantine zone, according to the show’s IMDb page. Apparently a full 10-episode season was ordered, and it will be hitting our screens in 2023, the page noted.

So what else is there to look forward to on HBO Max in the coming weeks, months, and into next year? Well, I’m stoked about the return of “The White Lotus” and its all-star cast. “Avenue 5” is also, finally, making a return, and there is little I enjoy more than watching Hugh Laurie be a funny bastard. However, he may have a run for his money judging by a brief clip of “The White House Plumbers,” starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux.

Everyone is in a flap over this “House of the Dragon” thing, and I am definitely not. Also, did anyone bother keeping up with “Succession”? I feel like it lost a lot of steam after the last season. (RELATED: There’s No Way You Can Watch This Trailer Without Sending Your Pulse Through The Roof)

No matter my personal opinion, this one video montage from HBO Max suggests it’s the only streaming service anyone needs right now. If the network managed to buy “Yellowstone,” I don’t think I’d ever use another platform.
