Playboy Playmate And ‘Ghostbusters’ Star Kymberly Herrin Dead At 65

Former Playboy Playmate and “Ghostbusters” star Kymberly Herrin died Oct. 28 at the age of 65.

Herrin, who played Dream Ghost in the 1984 film, died peacefully in Santa Barbara, California. Herrin’s niece, Theresa Ramirez, posted a message to Facebook at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 28 confirming Herrin’s death with a simple message and a touching photograph. “They are all together now. ? Aunt Kymberly Herrin. I love you ❤️,” Ramirez wrote. Her cause of death was not released to the public.

The Santa Barbara News-Press posted a tribute to Herrin’s life and her contributions to the world of entertainment Nov. 15.

“Kymberly was born in Lompoc, CA on October 2, 1957, to Sandy Herrin and Billie (Herrin) Dodson. She was a lifelong Santa Barbara resident and a beautiful woman inside and out,” according to the outlet.

The obituary touched on the many accomplishments Herrin had achieved over the course of her career, including her success as a model which saw her grace the cover of over a dozen magazines. In addition to starring in “Ghostbusters,” Herrin also appeared in the blockbuster movie, “Romancing The Stone.”

She was remembered as a vibrant woman who loved to travel and had a passion for sailing. “She lived aboard and sailed on a 75-foot yacht for several years, along the California Coast, through the Panama Canal, in the Sea of Cortez, in Baja and into the Caribbean,” according to the Santa Barbara News-Press. Readers of the obituary were encouraged to make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Herrin’s honor.

Herrin is survived by numerous family members, including Billie Dodson, her mother; Mark Herrin, her brother; as well as her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, the outlet continued.

“Kymberly will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her,” the obituary concluded.
