“Empire” star Bryshere Gray was arrested for allegedly violating his probation after an altercation with a woman, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Gray pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2021, which resulted in him being put on probation. He was instructed to inform his probation officer of any future run-ins that may impact the terms of his release, according to TMZ.
Legal documents filed in Maricopa, Arizona, allege that police were called last week to assist a woman claiming she was seeing Gray, and that he had assaulted her. She alleged Gray threw a box of food at her and that he pulled her hair.

The woman said Gray had shouted at her and told police that “his behavior was escalating” and that she “was concerned for her safety,” according to TMZ. Officers confirmed Gray had encountered multiple run-ins with law enforcement, including a domestic-related disturbance call in October, according to TMZ. Gray allegedly failed to inform his probation officer of his behavior. A judge signed a warrant for his arrest based on his failure to report the information. He was subsequently arrested and currently remains behind bars, according to TMZ.
There have been no reports suggesting Gray will be released at this time.
