What the hell is this?
The Miami Dolphins have hired Butch Barry (who?) as their new offensive line coach — their 10th one in nine years — after the team fired Matt Applebaum, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson.
Barry was the offensive line coach for the Denver Broncos in 2022. In 2021, he was the assistant offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers, and before that, a senior analyst with the Green Bay Packers in 2020. Barry also had a prior role with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With the 2022 campaign in particular, however, things got quite real (reportedly) with Butch Barry:
A #Broncos insider on new #FinsUp OL Butch Barry.
“He’s an idiot. Got fired mid season 4 incompetence.
Players hated him. Openly laughed @ him & called him a joke.
After Hackett firing, interim HC Rosberg immediately fired him, players applauded when announced @ team meeting”. pic.twitter.com/i48lpbqDHl

His style of offering criticisms without correction didn’t go over well here.
Left notes in lockers instead of in-person communication.
Multiple players here suggested he didn’t seem to know what he was doing.
Replacing Munchak was gonna be difficult for anyone, but… https://t.co/AS6CIZQATd

If this is all true — and I have a feeling that it is with multiple credible sources reporting this — then what I want to know is how in the hell did we go from glorious moves like Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb and Vic Fangio to … Butch Barry?
I just don’t get the logic here, who on earth made this decision? (RELATED: ‘Got Me Up Here Smiling’: Brandon Marshall Pranks Patrick Mahomes With Fake Rihanna Quote)
Same ol’ shit with my Dolphins … Get a little bit of glory, and then screw it all up and embarrass ourselves. Sickening.
