Famous actress Raquel Welch died at the age of 82 on Wednesday after a brief illness.
Welch’s manager, Steve Sauer, confirmed her death but did not disclose the nature of her illness, according to CNN.
Welch rose to fame as a prominent actress and a worldwide sex symbol in a series of successful Hollywood roles. She was best known for her work in “Fantastic Voyage” and “One Million Years B.C.,” TMZ reported.

Welch catapulted to international fame after the release of the 1966 hit “One Million Years B.C.” after her barely-there deerskin bikini left a lasting impression with fans.
She quickly became one of the most highly sought-after female stars of the 1960s and 1970s and was rewarded and recognized for her achievements. Among the many accolades in her collection, Welch took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her 1974 role in “The Three Musketeers,” TMZ noted. Welch also made an unforgettable appearance on “The Cher Show” in 1975.
